Description

The Phantom ICU Car Cam System™ is a complete full-time rear view driving camera that includes one Phantom ICU Car Camera® and our 9.66″(dia.) IPS Touch Screen ICU Video Monitor with built-in dash cam and DVR. The Phantom’s wide-angle camera is the best way to see your blind spots while improving driving safety. The Phantom ICU Car Camera® is our lowest profile camera that you mount to the roof of your vehicle just like a factory satellite radio antenna. If you have a factory installed satellite antenna that is not in use, simply replace it with the ICU Car Camera™. If you have no pre-existing mounting hole on the roof of your vehicle, it will be necessary to drill a new one (professional installation recommended). Our ICU 9.66″ Video Monitor looks just like a standard rear view mirror, and it just attaches to your old mirror. This HD Touch Screen IPS Monitor has a built-in dash cam and DVR to record video from both front and rear cameras. The ICU Car Camera® has low light sensitivity to give you a nice bright view at night of traffic, parking lots, the driveway, other objects around you, and especially pedestrians behind your car. If you have tinted windows it can be very difficult to see your surroundings especially driving at night, the ICU Car Camera® is the best solution for that problem. When it rains it can really hinder your vision out of the back window, the ICU Car Camera® gives you a much more clear view of the rear than a standard rear view mirror. The ICU Car Cam System™ is the perfect companion for your old or new car even if you have an existing back-up camera. Try it for 30 days on our “Love it or your money back” policy, so you have nothing to lose!

Wow this thing is amazing! I love it so far, and this is the first day! When I opened the box I was pretty impressed at the quality and looks of the monitor, and the camera looks very cool too. I installed it myself pretty easily it only took about an hour or so since I didn’t have to drill any holes or anything. I don’t use the XM radio so I just took my shark fin antenna off, disconnected the antenna wires, and popped in the Phantom camera in the same hole on the roof of my 2016 Dodge Challenger. Once I took off a few of the trim panels holding up the roof liner it was pretty easy to get the wires run inside. The monitor was super easy to strap on my rear view mirror and it looks almost like it’s the stock mirror. I just plugged in the camera wire in the monitor and plugged in the power in my cigarette lighter and it worked great. The video image on the screen is just so clear and vivid it’s really cool. I have pretty dark tinted windows which seem to help the video really pop. The wide angle camera is truly amazing because now I can see pretty much any car next to me no matter which lane they are in. This DVR recorder is the best idea ever and it’s nice that it is recording my front and rear cameras. I had an old dash cam stuck to my front window but that’s going in the trash since I this Phantom monitor has one built in. I was in a trance watching the monitor when I was driving around for hours just looking at the rear view LOL! I would recommend this system to everyone that wants to see blind spots around their car.

Pleasantly surprised and I am shocked at how low priced this camera system is for what you get. I got this for my 2010 F150 that has no backup camera so this really helps. Had to drill a hole on the roof for the camera which was not problem if you use a step drill bit which does not tear up the sheet metal and leave it jagged like a regular drill bit, and the trick to drilling a good hole on paint is to use masking tape on the spot you are drilling so the paint won’t chip and use touch up paint around the exposed edges of the hole. The installation instructions were very clear and easy to follow and It only took me an hour to do the whole install which was a breeze. There is a bit of a glare from the mirror in the sun so you have to get use to that but no biggie. All in all a great product!

ok I got the Phantom camera for my new Charger and it really does what they say, I can see all my blind spots and I don’t even have to turn my head to look at traffic, it’s the sh!t! I had it for almost a week and it works great at night, but the only con is in the daytime the video is a little hard to see because of all the glare coming off the glass, but at night it’s clear as day. I’m thinking of getting tinted windows so it would be much easier to see the screen. Other than that the camera and monitor seem to have high resolution and it’s clear as day. as soon as the soon starts setting the screen brightens up like it’s still daylight but its easy to see with no sun. I do like the fact that it records the cameras whenever I drive. I wish it could record when my car is parked too. Can’t wait to get my windows tinted, ROCK ON…

  4. jack-of-all-trades (verified owner)

I had to try this rear camera because my expensive license plate camera was stolen, guess you get what you pay for. Anyways I thought the price was pretty good for this and the reviews I read online seemed to be positive. First of all the video monitor fits nicely over my stock mirror so it looks like it was made for my car (Nissan Altima). The Phantom camera itself looks very nice and looks like it came with my car after it was installed. The video quality is perfect and the wide angle is just enough so I can see cars next to me when they are just at the tip of my peripheral vision when I look straight ahead. Nicely done ICU Camera.

  5. JamesK (verified owner)

YES YES YES this is a great product and I am very happy with it. I wish the screen was easier to see in direct sunlight but I guess I can get use to it. I love the blind spot wide angle view. The customer service is outstanding with all the help and questions I had. Thank you.

(This is an addendum to my prior review) I just had all my car windows tinted at 50% and now I can see the icu monitor in all it’s glory. It is very easy to see now and virtually no glare or reflection off the glass touch screen. I am very happy with the results!

  7. Caddyguy14 (verified owner)

I love my 2014 Cadillac CTS and I was about to trade up to a new CT6 because I like that mirror monitor feature but then I came across this Phantom camera system and I just had to try it. I had it installed at a local stereo shop (cost wasn’t too bad only $150 for installation) and now it’s like I have a new car. I plan to get another one for my wife’s Lexus too next week. Thank you for all your help, T.M.

  8. Roger Sanders (verified owner)

Got a 2015 Nissan Rogue and put a phantom camera on it last week, don’t care about the XM radio so I had to take that shark fin off of course. The camera was relatively easy to install and the monitor was even easier. The wires take a little more work because you have to remove some of the trim to get the roof liner down. All in all I put in about 2 hours just for the installation. It works very well and just like it says it shows me my blind spots where as I would normally be stretching my neck around to see them. I got use to this camera in about one day because the fisheye effect was a little disorienting at first. It was a hard to gauge where cars were in the monitor with this wide angle camera but I figured out how to measure their distance after about an 30 minutes. I really like the way I can see all the lanes on the highway even on 6 lanes. I would recommend this system for anyone that wants to see blind spots without twisting their heads around. I actually do feel safer when I drive now thanks to this thing and I already recorded a few cars almost hitting my car so that’s cool.

Bought the phantom camera system yesterday at a car show in Murrieta, California since the sales guy there gave me great deal on installation, free! He actually came over this morning and installed it in almost an hour on my ’98 Mustang and was very professional. I can’t see any indication he ever touched my car other than there is nice new camera on the roof and the new video monitor on my rear view mirror. I tested it out for about an hour so far with the camera and monitor on my mirror and I think it’s just awesome, I have never seen anything like this before. Thanks Dave I will recommend this product to all my friends! Sal

Got mine installed 3 days ago. Cost me $175 for installation but it was worth it. Took about 1 hour to get use to this system because at first it was a little disorienting, but once you figure out how to adjust for the fisheye view it’s pretty easy to use. Love the DVR recording on both cameras I know that will come in handy. I have a Lexus mid-size SUV with a backup cam but it doesn’t show me my blind spots like this camera system does. I am able to see very well with this camera and it was worth every penny.
