allows drivers to see much more of the road when driving
The other night I was driving on the freeway, in my ICU Video Monitor I could see a car coming up behind me in the next lane on my left. He was going about 90 mph and I could tell he was slightly drifting into my lane. All of a sudden I felt my car being pushed to the right like a very strong wind was pushing me. Sure enough that car was passing right next to me almost side swiping my car, it scared the hell out of me! So I swerved away as fast as I could to avoid him and luckily he missed my car by inches! He was going so fast I couldn’t catch up to him in traffic to get his license number and report him to the CHP. It’s driving situations like this that really call for a new type of protection when you drive, at least a way to prove the actions of other driver’s at fault. So I have developed a new type of car camera system that can record 360 degrees at the same time to protect a driver in case of an accident. The Blackbird ICU Car Cam System can record video to a DVR for video evidence of the rear view, and The Dragon ICU 3-way Dashcam can record video of the front and side views to a DVR. When combined the two Cam Systems can record to a mobile 4 video channel DVR for complete protection in case of an accident providing proof of another driver at fault.
Drilling a hole on vehicle is not difficult or damaging to your vehicle if done right.
The Drone Wireless ICU Car Camera is very stable and strong, as the super magnets hold it onto the vehicle like it is bolted on. Strong enough to withstand 100 mph speeds, yet it can still be removed easily by pulling on it. The Wireless and removable feature is very handy and nice to have since you can place it anywhere on your vehicle. The only 2 things of concern are:
1. You will need to periodically charge the Drone (approximately 1-2 times a month), and I recommend to turn off the camera power whenever possible to conserve battery life. The Li-on Battery has a typical life of 3-5 years with minimal use. The Drone does include a power remote so you don’t have to remove the Camera just to turn it off and on.
2. Due to possible theft you don’t want to leave it on the car outside over night, but parking in a private garage would be fine, and you wouldn’t want to just leave it on your vehicle if you go inside a store or something for a long period of time. As this is a totally new product It is very probable almost no one will know what it is and won’t even realize it is removable camera.
Other than those two things the Drone Wireless ICU Car Cam System is a great product and will surpass your expectations.
As for the Blackbird ICU Car Cam System this is a product of more convenience for a user in the long run, which you can install and never really think about it again because you don’t have to charge a battery and the Camera securely mounts to the vehicle with a bolt for anti-theft. The Blackbird will turn on and off with your vehicle’s ACC power so basically every time you start your car and turn it off the Blackbird and monitor will correspond. Also the Blackbird has both a wide-angled lens (120 deg.) for blind spots and a standard angle lens (75 deg.) for “real world” view directly behind your vehicle.
The installation for the Blackbird is not complex but it is time consuming if you have never installed this type of product. Installation is comparable to a backup cam but I have designed it to install even easier than that. Installation will entail removal of the vehicle roof liner so that the underside of the roof is accessible to run the cable from the antenna hole to the rear view mirror. This may include removal of one side of the vehicle’s interior paneling, door weather stripping, etc. and connection to power source such as the fuse box or cigarette lighter wiring. Typical installation could be 2-4 hours depending on experience and knowledge of such installation.
Installation of the ICU Video Monitor will be the same for all ICU Car Cameras with one exception, The Wireless System includes a cigarette lighter adapter so you can power up the Video Monitor from your cigarette lighter. Otherwise you can connect the included Video Monitor power to a power source such as the fuse box or cigarette lighter wiring.
Either camera is a great choice, I would say that convenience is the main factor for choosing. Remember also that the Drone only has a wide-angled lens (120 deg.) for blind spots, while the Blackbird has both a wide-angled lens (120 deg.) for blind spots and a standard angle lens (75 deg.) for “real world” view directly behind your vehicle.
